About - Koza Young Fashion Designers
Since 1992, the Young Fashion Designers Contest has been held annually to discover new names and new designs for the Turkish fashion industry. This contest plays a leading role in the discovering of young talents, and has been doing so for 17 years.
Designers such as Arzu Kaprol, Bahar Korcan, Hakan Yildirim, Umit Unal, and Hatice Gokce have ranked high in the previous Young Fashion Designers contests and have created their own brands with the support of this contest.
ITKIB’s traditional Young Fashion Designers Contest is changing its shell: with its new name and concept, KOZA is looking for Young Fashion Designers who will soar.
Having been recognized for providing support to young talent wishing to pursue a career in fashion for the last 17 years, ITKIB’s Young Fashion Designers Contest will now meet young talent under the name of KOZA.
Some changes have been introduced to the contest phase in order to focus merely on talent. The most important change is the addition of a separate leather category for contestants who want to present leather collections. The contest will end with a fashion show on August 26th 2009.
Do not forget to check out KOZA and details about the new changes...

The Young Fashion Designers Contest, which has been held by Istanbul Ready to Wear and Apparel Exporters Association (İHKİB) for the last 17 years and dedicated to discovering new designers, was organized as KOZA this year, with its new concept.
During the KOZA contest phase, which seeks young fashion designers that will soar in the sector under its new name and concept, 24 finalists; 16 from the ready-to-wear category and 8 from the leather category, have been determined by the Koza jury, which consisted of members of the board of directors of IHKİB, representatives of the leading brands of the sector, fashion designers and academicians.
On August 26th, the 24 young talents elected by the KOZA jury, under the new concept of the KOZA Young Fashion Designers Contests realized as a part of ISTANBUL FASHION DAYS, each presented one costume prepared in accordance with the themes they have chosen with the help of famous top models like Tuğçe Kazaz, Ece Sükan, Ahu Yağtuğ, Hande Subası and Ozge Ulusoy. The choreography for the final fashion show was left to the famous choreographer Uğurkan Erez. Mr. Hikmet Tanrıverdi President of the Board of Directors of IHKIB, presented a plaquet to Erez for his continued support in launching Turkish designers since 1992.
